Add Some Flair to Your Meals with This Easy Bacon Jam Recipe

Bacon jam is a savory spread that combines the smoky, salty flavor of bacon with the sweetness of caramelized onions and brown sugar. It’s perfect for spreading on toast, burgers, or sandwiches.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • 1 pound of bacon, chopped
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the bacon fat in the skillet. Cook until the onions are translucent and slightly caramelized.
  3. Add the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the onions. Stir to combine.
  4. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet and stir to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened to a jam-like consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and pulse until it reaches your desired consistency.
